Security Forces Foil Terror Plot in Pulwama; Suspect Arrested with Grenade and Anti-National Posters.

SRINAGAR / PULWAMA — Security forces foiled a potential terror plot in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district after apprehending a local resident carrying a live hand grenade and anti-national promotional material.

Incident Details
During a joint check post (naka) operation conducted by the Pulwama Police, the Army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and the CRPF’s 183 Battalion on the Drabgam–Pachar Road, a suspect attempted to flee upon sighting security personnel. Alert forces chased and apprehended the individual near Fruit Mandi on Pachar Road.

The suspect was identified as Tousef Ahmad Dar, a resident of Drabgam Payeen, Pulwama. 

Recoveries & Charges

Upon searching the suspect, security officials recovered:
One live hand grenade. 
Three anti-national posters describing August 15 (Independence Day) and August 5 (anniversary of Article 370 abrogation) as “Black Day”, while designating August 14 as “Youm-e-Azadi”. 
A mobile device used for communication.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under Sections 7 and 25 of the Arms Act, as well as Sections 13, 18, 23, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Investigations are ongoing to trace his contacts and supply linkages
