Killing of Moosa is a serious blow to LeT ecosystem: MHA – Major Success in Budgam

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday said the killing of top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Musa / Sulaiman Shah alias Musa is a “serious blow to LeT ecosystem” in Jammu and Kashmir.
The terrorist was killed in Operation KORAG in the Korag area, Yousmarg, Budgam district late on 29th Sept night.
How Operation KORAG happened?
- Based on specific intelligence input, a Joint Search Operation was launched by Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, J&K Police and CRPF in general area Korag, Yousmarg.
- “Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity, and upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire during which one terrorist was neutralised,” Chinar Corps said.
- Body recovered early morning during search in General Area Palmaidan along with war like stores. Operation still under progress.

MHA confirmed his identity as Pakistani national, ex-commando of Pakistan Army’s Special Service Group (SSG) who took voluntary retirement in 2023 and joined LeT. He infiltrated in Sept 2023. 5ace
