1 killed, 2 injured after car falls into 100-metre-deep gorg ..

The video captures a fatal road accident that occurred on October 2, 2026, along the Chakrata–Tyuni motor road near Chillad in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, India.
Incident Overview
What Happened: Three occupants from Dehradun were travelling in a Ford car along a winding mountain road. The car was moving at high speed when the driver lost control near a sharp bend. In the clip, an occupant asks whether they should slow down (“Dheeme chalu?”), to which another responds “No, no…”. Moments later, the car hit a roadside electricity pole and plunged approximately 100 metres (around 100 feet) down into a steep gorge.
Casualties:
Deceased: 39-year-old Durgesh Chaudhary was killed on impact.
Injured: Two other passengers, Sunil Mandal (27) and Rishabh, sustained serious injuries.
Rescue Operation: Passersby alerted local authorities after hearing cries for help. Because of the steep terrain, a State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team from the Tyuni post used ropes to descend the gorge, pull the survivors to safety, and transport them to the Community Health Centre in Tyuni.
The dashcam footage emerged over the following weekend, drawing widespread attention across news outlets and social media as a stark warning regarding the dangers of speeding and reckless driving on narrow Himalayan roads.
