In a major breakthrough against narcotics trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan Police Station Darhal has busted a drug distribution network by arresting a drug peddler and recovering a huge consignment of psychotropic tablets along with 9.01 lakh suspected to be proceeds of the illicit drug trade.
During routine naka checking Police Party of Police Station Darhal intercepted a black Maruti Brezza Registration No JK11J-6219 driven by Aijaz-ul-Haq S/O Amin-ul-Haq R/O Ujhan Tehsil Darhal presently residing at Gujjar Mandi Rajouri.
During his personal search the police recovered 02 strips (20 tablets) of Tramadol and 10 strips (100 tablets) of Tapentadol from his possession.In this regard a Case FIR No 52/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Darhal.
During the search of the vehicle which was conducted in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class leading to the recovery of 120 strips (1,200 tablets) of Pregabalin, 60 strips (600 tablets) of Tapentadol and ₹57,500/- in cash.
During investigation the accused disclosed the existence of additional contraband concealed at his residence in Gujjar Mandi Rajouri. Search was conducted in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class resulting in the recovery of 534 strips (5,340 tablets) of Tapentadol, 40 strips (400 tablets) of Pregabalin and ₹8,43,800/- in cash, believed to be proceeds generated through the illegal narcotics trade.
- Pregabalin: 160 strips (1,600 tablets)
- Tapentadol: 604 strips (6,040 tablets)
- Tramadol: 02 strips (20 tablets)
Total Recovery 766 strips comprising 7,660 psychotropic tablets, Cash Recovered: ₹9,01,300/-
The investigation is underway to unearth the entire drug supply chain, identify the source of the contraband and establish both the forward and backward linkages of the network.
