Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has announced that legislators of the ruling National Conference (NC) will proceed with their proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on the opening day of the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament to reiterate the demand for restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the media on Monday, Abdullah said the party intends to remind the Union Government of its commitment to restore Statehood and will use democratic and constitutional channels to pursue the issue.
He stated that the gathering at Jantar Mantar would serve as a platform to convey the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to the nation and to seek fulfillment of the assurances made by the Centre.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the National Conference-led government remains committed to achieving Statehood through peaceful, lawful, and democratic means.
