Lucknow Fire Tragedy Claims 15 Lives, Several Injured

Lucknow, June 22: A devastating fire that broke out in a three-storey commercial complex in Lucknow on Monday resulted in the deaths of at least 15 people, while seven others sustained injuries and are receiving medical treatment.

According to officials at the Trauma Centre of King George’s Medical University (KGMU), several victims, including children, were rushed to the hospital following the incident. Medical Superintendent Dr. Anil Agrawal stated that around 21 to 22 children were among those brought to the facility after the blaze.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives and announced financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). The families of those who lost their lives will receive ₹2 lakh each, while the injured will be provided ₹50,000 as relief.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, and rescue and relief operations were carried out at the site.
