Farhat Naik

Srinagar, June 13:
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has encouraged members of the Kashmiri Pandit community, particularly those residing across the globe, to play an active role in Jammu and Kashmir’s development by establishing industries, educational centres, and cultural institutions in the Union Territory.

Speaking at a gathering of overseas Kashmiri Pandits in Srinagar, the Lieutenant Governor described the current period as a significant turning point for Jammu and Kashmir. He said the growing participation of entrepreneurs, business leaders, technology professionals, and cultural figures reflects increasing confidence in the region’s peaceful environment and improving governance.

Sinha noted that the return and engagement of Kashmiri Pandits with their homeland represents a meaningful milestone. He remarked that their renewed connection with Jammu and Kashmir demonstrates faith in the region’s future and contributes to its social and economic progress.

Highlighting the community’s journey through decades of displacement and hardship, the Lieutenant Governor said Kashmiri Pandits have shown remarkable determination and resilience. Rather than allowing adversity to define them, he said, they have transformed challenges into opportunities and emerged stronger through perseverance and dedication.

He further stated that the event served not only as a celebration of the community’s achievements but also as an opportunity to strengthen the foundation for greater participation and reconnection with their roots.

Calling for greater involvement of Kashmiri Pandits in sectors such as industry, education, culture, arts, and spirituality, Sinha emphasized that lasting contributions to society are measured by the opportunities created for future generations and the positive impact left on the nation.

He expressed hope that members of the community would continue to contribute their expertise, resources, and vision towards building a prosperous and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir.
