
Jammu, June 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has placed its President, Javid Ahmed Kitab, under suspension with immediate effect after a resolution received the approval of the Association’s Apex Council.
In an official communication issued by the Honorary Secretary, the resolution was circulated among eligible Apex Council members in line with the provisions of the JKCA Constitution. Since the matter pertained to the President’s conduct and proposed suspension, the resolution was not sent to him and was instead forwarded to the other nine members of the Council.
According to the notification, eight members supported the resolution, while one member did not communicate a decision. With an 8-0 majority, the resolution was adopted in accordance with the constitutional provisions governing the Association.
The suspension of Javid Ahmed Kitab takes effect immediately. JKCA also stated that the resolution will be presented before the next meeting of the Apex Council for formal ratification.
