Acclaimed actor Pradeep Rawat, famous for his iconic antagonist roles in blockbuster films like Ghajini and Lagaan, has passed away at the age of 74 following a battle with cancer.
According to his manager, Siddharth Tiwari, the actor breathed his last on Tuesday, August 4, between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Rawat had initially beaten cancer four years ago, but experienced a severe relapse roughly six weeks ago, leading to a month-long hospitalization. His condition deteriorated rapidly due to a sudden drop in platelet count.
Rawat is survived by his wife, Kalyani, and their 18-year-old son, Vikramaditya. His mortal remains will be kept at his Goregaon residence in Mumbai ahead of the funeral scheduled for Wednesday evening.
Following the announcement by his co-star Yashpal Sharma on social media, fans across the country paid tribute to the veteran actor, remembering his unforgettable portrayals of characters like Ghajini, Deva (Lagaan), and Ashwathama (Mahabharat).
