Two firefighters lost their lives and three others sustained injuries while responding to a major blaze at an electronic chip manufacturing facility in Noida.
According to police reports issued on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the fire began late Monday night at the ILGIM plant located in the Ecotech-3 industrial region. At least six fire tenders were deployed to the scene to control the flames.
Tragedy struck during the firefighting operations when an interior wall and an iron support beam collapsed unexpectedly, trapping and injuring five emergency responders. Two of the injured firefighters later succumbed to their injuries.
