RAMBAN, JUNE 30: Continuing the intensive review of arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2026, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, today visited the Lamber Yatra Camp and other designated Yatra sites to assess the preparedness of various departments and ensure that all facilities are fully operational for the pilgrims.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SSP Ramban Arun Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, SDM Banihal Mohammed Naseeb Bajraan, SDM Ramsoo Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah, ACD Sheraz Ahmed, and other senior officers from the civil and police administration.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a comprehensive review meeting with all concerned departments to assess the arrangements for the pilgrims, including Langer facilities, accommodation, sanitation, drinking water, electricity, healthcare, security, traffic management, and other essential services. He reviewed the services being provided by the concerned departments and emphasized the need for close inter-departmental coordination to ensure seamless management of the annual pilgrimage.
Interacting with officers on the spot, the Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to maintain round-the-clock readiness and ensure that every facility remains fully functional throughout the Yatra period. He stressed the importance of prompt response mechanisms, effective sanitation, adequate medical preparedness, uninterrupted utility services, efficient traffic management, and robust security arrangements to facilitate a safe, smooth, and hassle-free pilgrimage.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer, JPDCL, to ensure proper tri-colour illumination arrangements at designated Yatra locations. He instructed that the Yatra helpdesk shall remain fully functional round the clock (24×7) to provide timely assistance to pilgrims and emphasized that no inconvenience should be caused to the yatrees under any circumstances.
He further directed the Food Inspector to inspect the quality and hygiene of food being served at the Langars throughout the Yatra period. The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the SDM to closely supervise all arrangements throughout the Yatra period to ensure effective service delivery.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the administration, in close coordination with the Police, line departments, and all stakeholder agencies, is fully prepared to provide the best possible facilities and ensure the safety, comfort, and convenience of the pilgrims undertaking the sacred Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
The officers accompanying the Deputy Commissioner briefed him on the preparedness of their respective departments and informed him that all necessary arrangements have been put in place in accordance with the prescribed protocols and the comprehensive Yatra Management Plan.
