RAJOURI, JUNE 29: In compliance with the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma and Transport Commissioner J&K, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Rajouri intensified its enforcement drive to ensure strict compliance with traffic rules and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The enforcement drive was conducted in Kotranka and adjoining areas under the supervision of Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri, Ashiq Rafiq Malik.
During the drive, the MVD team checked more than 85 vehicles. Out of these, 17 vehicles were e-challaned for various violations under the Motor Vehicles Act. An expected penalty amount of ₹52,600 has been generated through these e-challans.
Further, 08 vehicles were seized for serious violations, while recommendations for suspension of 03 Driving Licences have also been forwarded to the competent authority.
The enforcement team comprised Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Lakhvinder Singh along with other officials of the Motor Vehicles Department, Rajouri.
The MVD Rajouri reiterated that such enforcement drives will continue across the district to promote road safety, ensure adherence to traffic regulations, and prevent violations on roads.
