RAJOURI, JUNE 27: On the directions of higher authorities, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Rajouri intensified its enforcement drive to ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations and promote road safety across the district.
During the drive conducted on the National Highway Rajouri-Poonch, ARTO Rajouri Ashiq Rafiq Malik personally intercepted and inspected vehicles for violations of traffic norms. The enforcement team comprised MVI Lakhvinder Singh and other officials of the Motor Vehicles Department.
During the checking drive, 01 vehicle was seized, while 01 Driving Licence (DL) has been recommended for suspension for violation of traffic regulations. A total of 14 vehicles were challaned, and a penalty amounting to ₹24,900 was imposed on the violators.
Furthermore, during the current month, 06 Driving Licences have been cancelled and 01 DL has been suspended on the recommendations of Police authorities against offenders involved in cases under the NDPS Act.
The MVD Rajouri reiterated that strict enforcement action shall continue against traffic violators and appealed to drivers and vehicle owners to strictly follow traffic rules and regulations to ensure safer roads and prevent accidents.
