Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, where he was greeted enthusiastically by members of the Indian diaspora. Highlighting the growing strength of India-France relations, the Prime Minister emphasized that cooperation between the two nations is contributing positively to global development.
The visit to France marks the concluding phase of Mr. Modi’s two-country tour, which also included Slovakia.
During his stay in Paris, the Prime Minister is expected to participate in VivaTech 2026 alongside French President Emmanuel Macron. He will also engage with members of the Indian community residing in France.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, VivaTech is one of Europe’s leading events focused on technology, startups, and innovation. India is showcasing its presence through the largest national pavilion at the event, reflecting expanding opportunities for collaboration between Indian and European innovation sectors.
Earlier, while wrapping up his engagements at the G7 Summit, Mr. Modi described the discussions as constructive and meaningful. He noted that the summit provided an important platform for India to share its perspectives and initiatives on major governance, development, and policy issues.
