Shortly after landing in Delhi on Saturday morning for a planned demonstration, three key Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders—Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka, and Saurav Das—were taken into custody by local authorities aboard their Air India flight from Mumbai.
Dipke documented the intervention in real time, broadcasting live from his window seat beside Das as law enforcement boarded the aircraft around 10:20 a.m. In the footage, Dipke pointed out the arriving Delhi Police personnel as they stepped onto the plane. A contingent of officers, which included three female personnel and was headed by South West district Inspector Pravesh Kaushik, approached the leaders to notify them that their request to demonstrate at Jantar Mantar had been officially rejected. The three were subsequently escorted off the plane and transported to an undisclosed site.
The planned protest was aimed at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, focusing on accusations of voter registry manipulation during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and revisions involving Form 6 registration documents. Following the detentions, the CJP issued a statement calling for the swift, unconditional release of its leaders and claimed the police action was a calculated effort to block the gathering as security teams tightened access across central Delhi.
