The national capital has been placed under tight security surveillance, with drone monitoring, multi-layer barricades, and tire-deflation spikes installed across key transit routes as members of Team CJP, led by Abhijeet Dipke, advance toward Jantar Mantar. The planned demonstration calls for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing alleged discrepancies in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls.
To maintain order, law enforcement has deployed over 40,000 personnel—comprising Delhi Police alongside Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Preventive actions began overnight, leading to the detention of more than 1,000 individuals and the clearance of gatherings in the vicinity of the demonstration ground.

Key Restrictions in the City

Strict Perimeter at Jantar Mantar: Police have sealed off the protest venue, prohibiting general public movement and barring media personnel from entering the immediate zone.

Transit Station Shutdowns:

Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat stations are temporarily closed from 9:00 PM on October 9 through 10:00 PM on October 10

Liquor Sales Cease:

The city’s excise authorities ordered retail liquor vendors—covering domestic, foreign, and country liquor stores, including select mall outlets—to suspend operations on October 9 and 10. Service remains operational at licensed hotels, restaurants, and bars.
